Zusana Storrier

Zusana’s flash fiction, short stories, novellas and novels often deal with hidden disadvantage and obliquely rebellious characters. She’s as much at home writing realist fiction as she is creating Gothic or speculative fiction, or for that matter, magical realism.

Her work has been published in the UK and in North America, via podcasts, anthologies and literary journals, including Tether’s End Magazine, Kalopsia Literary Journal, Pushing Out the Boat, Seaside Gothic, New Maps:deindustrialised fiction and New Writing Scotland. She was long-listed both for the Mslexia Short Story Competition in 2021 and for the JBA Debut Novel Award in 2023, and she’s been a member of the wonderful Nethergate Writers – her first writing group – for over six years. She’s also a founder member of the Wee Tales flash fiction review-magazine group.

At the moment, she’s looking for a publisher for her first novel (a historical thriller), revising novel number two (an account of love lost), fretting about novel number three (a modern gothic/psychological horror story) and has written the first chapter of – hopefully – novel number four (an archangelic tale). That is of course way too many novels to have on the go at one time, and she resolves to be more level-headed in future.
